Hi, I'm Mara, and I need your help. Six months ago, I helped my partner, Gabriel, and his spouse, Rivendall, from Texas to California. We did this so that Gabriel and I could be together, but also because they were struggling to survive in Texas, both financially and socially, and coming to California would be safer for them and hopefully provide better opportunities. Since then, I have been the primary financial support of our household basically entirely through what remaining savings I had while we have tried to find jobs. Unfortunately we have not had a lot of luck on that front, and what money I had has almost entirely run out. We don't have enough to pay rent, our bills, gas, or groceries. I'm scared and desperately trying to find ways to support us as we continue searching for jobs, so I now turn to our community and the world at large to help us survive.

At the moment, my immediate "we need this immediately" goal is about $1000 - this would cover the rent and bills we already owe and hopefully also a grocery trip and a tank of gas. Beyond that, I am expecting needing a further $3000 to hold us through the beginning of May while we continue to hunt for work.
