In Loving Memory of Maqsooda Begum Hussain (1930-2023)

I'm sure everyone reading this would testify to the fact that Dado's life on this planet was a testament to the essence of love, compassion and tenderness that we all received in some form or other, as children, grandchildren, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

It was often said by Dado that she wanted to build a water well or Masjid where young children could learn to read Qur'an at some point in her lifetime.

Recognising this, and in the spirit of Sadaqah Jariyah – a lasting charity that continues to benefit individuals long after we are gone – we want to build a deep bore water well and/or Masjid in her honour. This will not only provide essential water to countless individuals and families, but will stand as a testament to Dado’s everlasting compassion, and provide nourishment both physically and spiritually, just as she nourished the souls of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

In the Holy Qur'an, it is stated: "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills." (Al-Baqarah, 2:261). By contributing to this noble cause, not only do we cement her legacy, but we also invest in a future filled with blessings, compassion, and hope.

Let’s come together in honour of Dado, and make her dream a reality in an ongoing form of Sadaqah that will benefit her long after her short time on this Earth.

Any and all donations will be gratefully received. Depending on the amount we raise, we will build a water-well, masjid or both in her name.
