WE'RE GOING TO HAWAII!

We are incredibly excited to share that the Maplewood Marching Band has officially met the requirement to participate in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Waikiki, Hawaii, on December 7, 2026!

This is an extraordinary opportunity for our students to represent Maplewood, our community, and Northwestern Pennsylvania as part of this historic commemoration.

We could not have reached this milestone without the incredible support of our families, friends, businesses, organizations, and community. THANK YOU!

Our fundraising isn't finished — it's just entering a new chapter.
Now that our participation in the trip is secured, we are turning our attention to the additional costs of getting a marching band to Hawaii — while continuing to support the needs of our entire 2026 band season.

One of the significant expenses we are preparing for is transporting our students' instruments and equipment to Hawaii. Unlike packing a suitcase, getting a marching band's instruments safely across the country requires additional checked baggage, shipping, oversized-item fees, and careful planning.

We are also preparing for additional trip-related expenses that aren't included in the basic travel package, including food and student necessities, sunscreen and other items that may need to be purchased after arrival, and unexpected costs associated with traveling thousands of miles with a group of student musicians.

Supporting an Incredible 2026 Season

Hawaii is only one part of what these students are accomplishing this year.
Our marching band's 2026 production, The Untamed North, has also required a significant investment in props, costumes, equipment, and materials. These elements help our students bring their show to life throughout the competitive marching season while continuing the tradition of excellence they established in 2025.

Donations to the Maplewood Band Boosters help support:
• Transportation and safe handling of instruments and equipment for Hawaii
• Additional student and band needs associated with the Pearl Harbor trip
• Props and costumes for the 2026 marching show
• Instrument maintenance and repairs
• Uniform and equipment needs
• Transportation and band trailer expenses
• Other expenses that allow our Concert, Jazz, and Marching Band students to participate and succeed throughout the year

From Maplewood to Pearl Harbor
On December 7, our students won't simply be taking a trip to Hawaii. They will have the privilege of participating in a historic commemoration and representing the Maplewood community thousands of miles from home.

For a small school and a small-but-mighty band, that's pretty incredible.
Every donation — whether $10, $25, $50, $100 or more — helps us give these students an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives while continuing to build a strong band program here at home.
Thank you for helping the Maplewood Band make music, make memories, and represent our community with pride — from Northwestern Pennsylvania all the way to Pearl Harbor.
