Maple's Surgery Expenses

 

 

Hey guys - Meg here. Today has been a rough rough day for my soulmate. This morning upon checking in on Maple, she found that Maple was suddenly unable to use her back legs. She immediately took Maple to the vet to have her checked out, where they found that one of her discs appeared to be pressing on her spinal cord. After the neurosurgeon did an MRI, they saw that Maple's spinal cord is swollen and a group of her spinal discs are compressed against her spinal cord, causing her back legs to be paralyzed. The surgeon is recommending surgery immediately to give Maple the best chances of getting function back into her legs. Unfortunately, the longer this surgery is prolonged, the more there is a chance for further nerve damage and the possibility of full and permanent loss of mobility in her back legs. The surgeon wants to do this surgery as early as tonight or first thing tomorrow however the cost of the surgery has to be paid in full before they can begin. Maple is currently being taken care of at the Dogwood Veterinary Hospital in Richmond, which is the same hospital that saved my Bub's life before I adopted him. She is in AMAZING hands and we know our Maps is loved by so so soooo many far and wide. Together we have pooled together all of the funds that we can possibly come up with but we are still coming up short and are desperately asking for donations to give Maple the best possible chance of full recovery.
