Hi there, my name is Katie. I found Maple on February 7, 2025, on the on-ramp to I-75 in Covington, KY. She was huddled against the median, flinching at passing cars, as I scooped her up and took her home. At home, I noticed her limping and a mangled right back leg. At the vet, she was found to have an old break in her leg that had destroyed her ankle joint. Because of the age of the break and the immense pain that she feels, she will require a complete amputation of her back leg. Vet's predict that she is only 5-6 months old and has likely lived her entire life on the streets.

My partner, Matthew, and I are raising money to help pay for the vet bills to care for Maple. Unfortunately, Maple is also in the early stages of pregnancy. Because of her young age and to receive her necessary amputation, she will require a life-saving abortive spay procedure. By performing this, she will be able to heal from this massive surgery and grow into the healthy cat that she is meant to be.

In total, her medical costs will amount to approximately $3,000. Through the generosity of close friends and family, I have already raised $1,000 in funds. I am now seeking the help of my community and the public to save Maple's life. All donated funds will be directly used for the payment of medical bills for Maple's care.
