My name is, Maple Juniper, and I turn 3 years old in May! My health has begun to decline over the last few weeks and my treatment is no longer working, so my momma and I have to go to a special vet in Aurora to hopefully figure out what’s going on with me!
I had a cough in January, which my Mom and doctor gave me medicine for, but it never completely went away. On Saturday February 18th, I started getting really sick and my Mom rushed me to the Emergency Vet Hospital. I was there for two whole days, then I went home and a few days later I started having what my doctor says were seizure episodes.
Since then I have been at the vet or animal hospital almost everyday where I get to spend time with my awesome doctors and friends. My momma found out that I had bronchitis first, then my lungs got worse and I developed pneumonia, then the seizures started, and two week ago I started to finally be doing better - but last Thursday all my symptoms came back.
I already had to go to U of I to see the super nice vet staff there, but to see the neurologist it was going to cost my momma $5000 and that’s a lot of money! My momma has already spent $5500 on me to get better because she loves me so much, but I know it’s been hard on her. She takes amazing care of me and gives me everything even if it means she goes without. Since I am unresponsive to my treatment, I have to go to Aurora next Thursday to meet the vet staff there and see if they can help me!
My momma is worried though because she doesn’t know how much it will cost her and she is having to consider whether or not I have to go to a new home with people who have the money to help save me. I know my momma doesn’t want this, and that she will do everything she can to take care of me and keep me safe, but she knows that if it’s what I need then she would as hard as it would be for her to go through.
My momma does not like asking for help, so that is why I’m doing it for her, and this is where you come in! Could you help my momma and me so I can get better? Any money you give will go to my medical bills and my road trip to Aurora to see the new specialist!! If we get over our goal, then my momma can use that to help cover any other medical costs for me and for my momma to pay her bills!
If you can’t donate, that is okay, I would just ask that you please share it in case there is someone else out there who wants to help me and my mom! I want to stay with my momma more than anything in the world. She loves me so much and she makes it known every day as soon as I wake up. She asks me if I had good dreams, gives me lots of kisses, and cuddles with me for a few minutes before it’s time to start the day! She takes me places, gets me ice cream, teaches me how to be the best little girl I can be, introduces me to good people who love me too, and let’s me be the dog I am meant to be!!
