Help Us Change Manyka's Life
We started with $500 with the hopes of meeting and even surpassing our fundraising goal of $6k! If we go over, she will more than need it.
Meet my sister Manyka Gaither, whom we affectionately call Nicci, a resilient and inspiring woman who has faced more health challenges in her life than most of us could ever imagine. Nicci's journey from being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 13, has been one of courage, determination, and unwavering faith, as she battles a multitude of severe health conditions. Her unyielding spirit has carried her through numerous surgeries with her heart stopping on the operating table, countless treatments, and a rollercoaster of medical crises, making her a true warrior in the face of adversity.
Her junior high school Deale Junior High School basketball coach even rescued her in a snowstorm from the Davita dialysis center last year (2022) when she got stranded by the transportation company canceling her ride home. He saw her Facebook post and decided to ACT.

Nicci's health struggles have left her in a position where she faces an overwhelming challenge - limited mobility and the constant need for supplemental oxygen. These challenges have not only affected her physical well-being but have also taken a toll on her and our family and friends' emotional and psychological health, robbing her of the dignity and independence she once enjoyed.
Recently, she experienced another amputation, half her thumb, in addition to one of her big toe in the past.
Asthma, anemia, arthritis, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, back pain, and a myriad of other conditions have made life incredibly challenging for Nicci. Y'all know. She is very public on Facebook with her journey.
She has battled cervical cancer, coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), among others. Diabetes, kidney failure, and three strokes have further complicated her life, leaving her dependent on dialysis and therapy with a full-time set of home aides.
But Nicci's indomitable spirit and faith continues to shine through, defying the odds with strength and resilience. Even though she's partly blind, she remains determined to overcome her disabilities and reclaim her life. The support and love she has received from her family and community have been a source of inspiration for Nicci, proving that miracles can happen when people come together.
We now turn to you, our family, friends, and extended community, to make a life-changing difference for Nicci. With your generous support and prayers, we aim to provide her with the vital resources she needs to regain her mobility and independence.
Nicci's dream is to have access to oxygen tanks and a motorized wheelchair that will help her regain her sense of dignity and freedom. She is slated to go on a Carnival Cruise with our Family and this will be the first time she has travelled outside of the country and has not travelled a long distance in decades. The oxygen tank will allow her to not be bedridden and isolated in her room.
By contributing to this GoFundMe campaign, you will be helping Manyka Gaither on her journey to transforming her life. Your support will provide her with a chance to move around, regain her lifestyle, and find a renewed sense of dignity. It's time to help this incredible woman, my sister, your family member, your friend, regain her independence and embrace life once more.
Join us in making Nicci's dreams come true and providing her with the tools she needs to overcome her physical limitations. Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to empowering Nicci and giving her a chance to live life to the fullest.
Let's come together as a community and make a significant impact on Nicci's life. Your generosity will make all the difference.
Please donate today and share this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. Together, we can change Manyka's life and be a part of her incredible journey towards a brighter, more dignified future.
Will
Nicci's older brother
