- My father had a car accident on August 2022 which was a trauma alert and was transported to Ryder Trauma. He had several major injuries but was recovering in different Rehab Centers. The last one he was at was The Claridge House. On April 8, 2023 I received the worst phone call a daughter can receive. They called me at 10 pm and told me my dad died at 4 pm of pneumonia complications. I was devastated. John Hanks Memorial Services also called to tell me that his supposed wife and his other daughter ( my sibling) said I was in charge of his finances which was untrue , however I stepped up and asked his landlord to give me the deposit of his efficiency to pay for a cremation. His supposed wife took the deposit. As you all know I am my mothers caregiver because of her Alzheimer’s and Dementia, however I found time to see my father almost every Sunday since his accident. I saw him the Sunday before he died and he had given me some checks to pay for his efficiency , he had hoped to return home. I tried to go to his bank and was turned away and was told his supposed wife had claimed the $1100 he had in the bank. I was unable to get any money to pay for his cremation. Today is April 24,2023 and I received a call from the Funeral Director that my father was still in a freezer and that both women said they didn’t want anything to do with him. I was appalled. They took his dignity and memory away. I’m asking for help so that I can have him cremated as soon as possible and let his body rest in peace. I prayed for his soul the day he died In JESUS name. I believed that both women would do the right thing by him. I was wrong. I don’t have the means to pay for these expenses , especially when I need to pay for help in caring for my mother so I can go to only doctors appointments and special occasions like my son’s graduation. Anything will help. I beg you.
