Manthey Family Support

Donation protected
On Saturday, February 8, 2020, Ryan Manthey was involved in a horrific accident when a tree he was excavating snapped, sending a large splinter of a tree trunk directly into his eye socket and brain.  It entered through his upper eyelid in an upward direction which fractured his eye socket and caused significant damage to surrounding tissue, to include his brain.  Initial scans revealed a concussion, lacerated eyelid, fractured orbital socket, and blood and bone fragments on his brain.

Ryan was transferred by air to UAB University Hospital in Birmingham on 2/10 and was rushed into surgery where they performed brain and eye surgery.  Thankfully, they have excellent medical insurance which will cover most of his medical bills.  Their greatest need is to help replace their income, for he will require weeks -- even possibly months -- of rehab away from home which will involve travel & lodging expenses for Erica & Ryan (as well as help for their 3 kids while they are away).  Many of you have asked what you can do to help this sweet family, so we are setting up this GoFundMe as a way to bless them.  (*Any monies collected that are not needed will be donated to local nonprofits.)

Thank you for showing your love and support in this way.  Please continue to pray for a quick recovery (Ryan’s speech to return to normal, no infection to set in, and full use of his eye). We are standing in faith that he will be completely healed!
