Manon’s London Marathon Fundraiser
Donation protected
On October the 2nd 2022, I will be running the London Marathon in aid of two incredibly worthy charities close to my heart!
I hope to support Diabetes UK and The Farming Community Network through raising awareness of these special charities, as well as important funds to ensure their care and guidance continues to help those in need.
Diabetes UK is the leading charity for the people living with the growing health crisis of diabetes in the UK. Currently, 4.8 million people are living with diabetes, and 12.3 million people are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes in the UK. As a charity, their aims include supporting everyone affected by diabetes and fund pioneering research in the attempt to prevent amputations, tackle sight loss and drive towards finding a cure to reach a world where diabetes can do no harm.
Farming can be a lonely and isolating occupation at times, meaning farmers and their families are highly susceptible to poor mental wellbeing, including stress, anxiety and depression. The Farming Community Network is a voluntary charity that offer support to farmers and families of the farming community across England and Wales. Comprising of a network of 400 volunteers, advice related to farming, business, health and family is offered to approximately 6,000 individuals each year. Recognised as a ‘lifeline’ and a ‘trusted friend’ by those helped, FCN hope to promote positive mental health in farming and help individuals overcome their problems.
Over the coming 6 months, whilst training hard, I will endeavour to reach my target and any support, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated
Thank you in advance!
