Manny Pereira needs our support as he works to get well

Hi, my name is Darrell Kuwabara and along with some friends are creating this GoFundMe campaign in support of our friend Manny Pereira. He is currently in a pretty tough struggle with Cancer. I know that this is a disease that has touched many of our lives and I'm sure you can relate to the stresses and challenges that come with the diagnosis and treatment. Manny has been unable to work for a prolonged period due to his health, and to add to the situation, his partner, Grace was laid-off in the early fall of this year. There are many uncovered costs associated with receiving treatment as well as the day-to day expenses that must be dealt with to ensure that life can proceed in as smooth a fashion as possible.

Manny and Grace are kind, caring and positive people who are doing their best to remain positive as they confront the treatments, setbacks and emotional toll that his condition takes. Of late, his physical condition has required numerous hospital stays as well as ongoing outpatient care. He has been receiving excellent care from his healthcare team at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and for that we are all grateful.

I got to know Manny over the last number of years as a result of his enjoyment of music and thankfully, our band. He, Grace and her son, Hunter have been a constant presence at our performances. In addition to this Go Fund Me campaign, my fellow band members are holding a dance to help them deal with their financial challenges as he continues treatment.

A number of people have indicated that they would like to make a donation in support of Manny. We believe that the Go Fund Me would allow us to maintain a transparent and accountable way for us to collect and distribute any funds raised outside of our dance.

The funds will be used to assist Manny and Grace in dealing with the costs associated with his ongoing care, treatment and maintenance until such time as the need for care has eased. Manny and Grace are in for a tough time and it is hoped, that with your help, we can enable them to focus upon getting well.
