Manny Needs Us—Let’s Show Up
Donation protected
If you’ve ever stepped into a bar in New Orleans, there’s a good chance you’ve been lucky enough to meet Manny—the guy who remembers your drink, plays the best music, and argues about the latest cinema. He’s the reason half of us survived bad dates and long days with a well-made drink in hand.
Last month, Manny received a life-changing diagnosis: testicular cancer that has spread to his liver, lungs, and spine, even causing a spinal fracture. This news came as a shock. There’s nothing a 29 year old person can do to prevent or plan for this type of illness. Thankfully, Manny decided to make visits to healthcare providers and the cancer was caught before more damage could be done.
The road ahead is a long and a hopeful one. He’s starting his second round of chemo, and looking towards radiology and surgery. So far, things are going well as can they can! Manny is hopeful, strong, and ready to kick cancer’s ass.
Manny will be out of work for the foreseeable future. We want to make sure he can focus 100% on healing without the added stress of financial burdens. Medical bills for chemotherapy, surgery, and future treatments are already adding up, along with everyday expenses like rent, utilities, and groceries. On top of that, Manny is also losing income while he’s unable to work.
He’s always shown up for us—now it’s our turn to show up for him. Please throw in whatever you can—$5, $20, the price of your next drink. Heck, even if you can donate please also share this campaign.
All we have is each other and the people beside us. Every small donation and share helps.
Love y’all—let’s do this!
