Each of us has our unique journey and challenges, but I believe my children and I are battling a particularly rough storm.

For the past two years, 2 of my 3 amazing children have been in and out of Intensive Care Units, hospitals, and have been diagnosed with a rare disorders called dystonia and chorea. The are currently under investigation for Juvenile Huntington's Disease and Juvenile Parkinson's Disease. In addition to this, they have also been diagnosed with sensory processing disorder and Autism. They have been experiencing complications associated with Juvenile Huntington's Disease and Juvenile Parkinson's Disease.

My children are on the verge of not being able to get necessary treatment and testing.

One of my children requires a specialized procedure that only happens in two places in the Unites States.

Many hospitals and doctors won't take them as patients because they are so medically complex.

I recently had to reschedule appointments at one of the best hospitals in the United States, because I could not afford the cost of medical housing, travel, and out of pocket costs.

I am asking for help to pay for housing while we are going through medical treatment and permanent housing.

Medical insurance, often seen as a safety net, has failed to catch us in our time of need. We are currently shouldering the burdensome cost of medicines, therapies, and treatments that my children desperately need. These costs are astronomical, and I am doing everything within my power to keep up, but the scale of the task is overwhelming.

Their Father was brutally abusive and I have a permanent order of protection against him that protects all of us from him.

Despite being owed $100,000.00 in arrears child support, there have been no sanctions or judgments against my ex-husband (the father of my 2 medically complex and special needs children). He has multiple homes, cars, and plenty of money. His goal is for our children to wither away. They will not wither away.

My ex has gotten default judgments while our children were hospitalized, and I could not attend court. He uses insurance information to find out when they are hospitalized. I cannot afford an attorney. My ex is now trying to jail me for not paying his attorney's fees. His domestic violence injuries to me disabled me and caused concussions. Who will take care of my children if this happens?

My ex intentionally created a conflict of interest with pro bono organization attorneys, so I am ineligible to receive their services. It is a harsh truth to acknowledge, but we have been left to fend for ourselves in this difficult situation.
