February 2017: The students at Horace Mann Elementary are taking pledges and donations for the 5th annual Fit-A-Thon!!
Our small and thriving school is celebrating National Nutrition Month by moving and grooving on February 7, 8, and 9th to show our students, families and supporters that exercise is not only a necessary component of health, but that it can be downright FUN too!
Students of Mann Elementary will be taking pledges, and in return will be spending one hour of their time heading through a series of 6-8 stations set up to demonstrate that being active can be done in a bunch of ways. Their skills will be tested by balancing an egg on a spoon, their sport will be tested by shooting hoops, and their fun will be tested by hula hooping and silly dancing, for a start, amongst other FUN activities. Our groovy principal, DJ Mrs. McKeehan-Marr will be pumping some jams to further motivate and make this event nothing less than enjoyable!
We encourage all Mann families to come join in and get their heart rate up!
Local businesses have sponsored a portion of the t-shirts for the students to wear, and now it's time for our kids to raise some dough, and burn some energy, for the chance to help cover field trip expenses, 5th grade graduation events, and to beautify our growing little school. This event is a win-win, because it not only raises money for the school, but teaches kids that exercise isn't JUST limited to athletics. Couple that with healthy snacks and meals, and a healthy lifestyle is just that easy.
Mann School R.O.C.K.S!! Our student body learns so many incredible things on a daily basis, please support us so we can continue the enriched environment that is being provided. It's time to get our students moving!
Please note- when making a donation on behalf of a particular student, please note that student's name in the comment section so they can earn a prize!
Help spread the word!
