Pyaareo (Beloved),
Thank you for your continued love & support during this time.
While we appreciate the kind offer of flowers, we humbly ask that instead we come together to create something more impactful & long lasting in loving memory of Mama. Rather than buying flowers that will only last a few days, we have instead decided to give medical supplies, clean clothing &/or a hot meal to those that need the love and support more.
Mama was genuinely the kindest most generous person we were honoured to know & serve, and as much as she liked flowers, she absolutely loved doing Seva (Selfless Service for Humanity) - helping and giving to friends, family & strangers alike - something she instilled in me from a very young age and that I continue to honour to this day.
There wasn't a friend or neighbour that she didn't regularly feed, give a couple of pounds for their child &/or pet dog or give one of her many beautiful homemade art & crafts to. It's been absolutely heartwarming to hear all of your stories about how she gave to with an open heart, open mind and open hand regardless of who you were - your colour, nationality or religion really didn't matter to her, but if I'm truly honest Mama left a part of her heart in Kenya with Bhaji (her darling father) and so she always held a soft spot for her African brothers & sisters, often starting conversations with a complete strangers about where they were from and their shared love of Africa.
She truly lived how I hear and read the saints of Guru Nanak did and I'm truly blessed to have been born to her and to have had her as my guide in this lifetime.
So, with that being said, it's only befitting that we honour her memory by continuing in her footsteps. We will be doing our first outreach of 2025 in London (shortly after the funeral), and we request that whoever has clothes, food, medical supplies and most importantly time, to please get in touch with one of the ChardiKala UK Sevadars and to physically get involved.
There will be lots of other opportunities to do physical Seva throughout the year, but for now if you would like to contribute financially towards supplies for our ongoing outreach Seva, then please feel free to leave a donation here. (100% Hathi (hand to hand) Seva goes directly to those that need it most).
In the meantime, for those that are free and can bless us with your Sadh Sangat (True Companionship), please attend the ongoing Sehaj Paat, the Atim Sanskar (Cremation Service) on the 16th May & Sehaj Paat Bhog.
Our eternal gratitude and love - May Maharaj continue to shower you all with Beant Kirpa (Unlimited Grace & Love) <3
