Mango's Emergency Vet Bill

On April 14, 2023, one of our best friends, Bella rushed her cat, Mango to SAGE Emergency Veterinary Hospital in San Francisco. Mango was showing signs of being uncomfortable the past few weeks and stopped eating the past few days. His primary Veterinarian immediately referred him to the Emergency Specialty Center to be examined as soon as possible.

Being the great cat mom that she is, Bella had no hesitation to bring him in immediately. We all assumed that it would be a quick visit and he'd be sent home with medication to help him feel better. But a couple of hours later, the doctors told Bella that they needed to treat and monitor him for two days for a urinary tract blockage, which can be fatal if left untreated.

No one saw this coming, and Bella didn't expect the vet bill to be so high. He's currently being treated with a catheter to help clear the blockage and will be monitored and have more lab tests throughout his treatment so he can go back home and make a full recovery.

Mango is the sweetest Persian mix you'll ever meet. Bella adopted him on March 14, 2019, after he spent the first year of his life in a backyard. Even though he grew up outdoors, he's always been friendly with humans and other cats. He loves to be petted and cuddled, has the softest, sweetest meow and is a complete sweetheart. This is the first time in his five years of life that he's had a serious health problem. He's so young and deserves the chance to get the best treatment and make a full recovery.

The vet bill for treatment for the next two days is $6,000. We're asking friends, family, and any pet lovers to kindly donate to help Bella with the cost. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE:

Mango is back home with Bella and on his way to recovery! He's now eating, using his litterbox, and drinking water himself. Please continue to spread the word and share as much as you can to get closer to our goal. He's currently on three prescription medications and a special diet and will need a check-up visit with his primary Veterinarian in a couple of weeks.
