Mane in Heaven Medical Fund
Donation protected
This year we (Becky Amos, Jim Amos & Liz Klawans) are lacing up our shoes and running a half marathon YES....13.1 MILES!!! Why are we running you ask??? To raise $1500 for Mane in Heaven our favorite Non-Profit Organization. 100% of the money donated will go towards the Miniture Horses of Mane in Heaven.
What is Mane In Heaven you might ask? Mane in Heaven is a recognized 501©(3)non-profit organization that provides therapeutic benefits to disabled and able-bodied children and adults through animal-assisted activity and therapy visits with miniature horses. That's right folks...they use Miniture Horses for therapy/animal assisted visits just like therapy dogs! Cool right?

Mystery, Lunar, Turnabout and Jenella make visits to nursing homes, hospitals, hospice, homes for the disabled, GiGi's playhouse and even schools. They are just like therapy dogs except they don't get in bed with patients. They bring so much joy, love and excitement when they go on their visits.
Mane in Heaven does not charge for visits.
Every week the Minis make the hour long ride to Chicago to visit the Pediatric Oncology floor at Rush University.

This nationally recogonized non-profit sure has gained a lot of attention. They have appeared on national television, local news, the newspaper and even Nurse Magazine! But despite all of the publicity...donations are still few and far between. Fundraising is their main source for providing the needed care for these adorable therapy horses.

Last month Mystery (the smallest of the Mane in Heaven Minis) required dental surgery and had several incisors surgically removed. Then last week Cinderbella had a terrible case of colic and we were unsure if she would pull thru. Both of the Minis are healthy and well thanks to their amazing veterinary team. However....the medical bills are not cheap. Monthly costs to house, feed and care for the horses is costly.
Please help us reach our goal and support us in our cause!
