Mandy's mission to overcome cancer

Hi, my name is Becky St Louis; I am raising money for one of my dearest friends, Mandy Turner. Mandy is a mom, daughter, sister, nurse and friend to many. She is a believer in Christ and ultimately trusts completely in Him.

Mandy was diagnosed recently with metastatic cancer. Cancer is in her ovaries, peritoneum and omentum. Her treatment will be at Duke in Durham, NC, starting September 1, 2022.

Mandy is a single mom, her oldest son is deployed in the US Army and her daughter is 16 and attends RBHS. She works full-time at LMC surgery center in Irmo and also picks up extra shifts for urgent care to make ends meet. She has very little compensated sick time at work and it will soon be exhausted. Travel and medical expenses will be an extreme financial burden.

Feb 2024 update:

Chemo is currently on hold for 6 weeks as Mandy treats an infection with IV antibiotics at home. The GI issues are really taking a toll on her body and is unable able to eat more than broth and liquids. Next week, she is scheduled for a pleural catheter to be placed to deal with accumulating fluid in her pleural cavity.

Mandy tries to answer texts and calls but is obviously exhausted. She continues to be thankful for all the support and love. Specific prayers needed for healing, comfort, wisdom for the medical care team, and financial support. She is unable to work and her short term disability ends March 18th. She needs us now more than ever.
