Hi everyone, my name is Remi and on behalf of my family, I am putting together a GoFundMe for my wonderful, kind and deserving Aunty Mandy.

Mandy tragically lost her home in the bushfires in Harcourt, Victoria over the weekend. On the same day, her mother (who she was extremely close with) also passed away. One of these events on their own is a life altering loss, to face two of these things at the same time is unimaginable. Despite it all, she’s been so strong and positive. Which makes sense, seeing as in the last 12 months she’s also been fighting breast cancer. Not to mention that she’s worked in domestic violence helping society’s most vulnerable for years and years. She’s tough stuff. But that’s Mandy. She’s kept a brave face, we are doing what we can to rally around her.

Mandy had created the most beautiful sanctuary as a home, filled with love and laughter and a perfect home for her gorgeous goat and delightful dogs. While she’s kept her animals safe, she has lost essentially everything else and has to start over, all while planning a funeral for her mother.

Aunty Mandy would NEVER ask for us to put together a GoFundMe, but I couldn’t help but think that there would be so much that insurance couldn’t possibly cover. So much time that would need to be taken off work, time spent finding things, rebuilding, looking after her beloved animals. We wanted to do something so badly, and we knew other people would want to pitch in and help support someone as special as Aunty Mandy in this f**king devastating time.
