I am writing on behalf of a coworker who is fighting for her life. She is facing her third battle with cancer since 2012. Her name is Miranda( Mandy) Scoggins.She is a single mother of 2 beautiful children, Vanessa 11 and Jackson 14. Mandy has been a nurse at JFK medical center for the last 32 years. She has worked tirelessly as a nurse leader in the operating room of the busiest OR in Palm Beach County. She is one of the strongest women I have ever met and is full of love, hopes and dreams for herself and her children.Mandy has been fighting breast cancer since first being diagnosed in 2012. She has battled through multiple surgeries, rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. During this battle Mandy has never missed a day of work. Only a small number of people ever knew she had cancer. Two years ago the cancer spread and she started on a new round of medications and treatments.those medications are no longer working and the cancer is back with a vengeance.The reason we are asking for donations on her behalf is because she would never ask herself and the medications and treatments she is receiving now are very expensive and not covered by her insurance. The medications are making her very sick and we don’t know how much longer she will be able to work..she is our HERO through her strength and perseverance.
