Mandy & Constantine's Housing Kerfuffle

Hello! We are Mandy Leigh Thompson and Constantine Pappas! We have been a couple for over six years and finally saved up enough money to buy our first house. Last Fall, we signed a contract, put down a deposit, paid for an appraisal/ inspection and were set to close on October 31st which we thought would be a perfect ‘treat’ to an otherwise spooky weekend. We moved out of our previous home, put belongings into storage, and relocated to temporary housing with just the basics and our four-legged furry friends. However, when the closing date came and went without any communication from the sellers’ team, it was apparent that we were more or less on the “trick” end of the spectrum. Days turned into weeks, and our team encouraged us to force the sellers to comply with the contract by taking legal action. At this point, we have now incurred a lot of debt in liquidated damages due to hardships caused by the delays, e.g., relocation costs, storage, temporary housing, legal fees, and mental duress.

We probably should have cut our losses and pulled out in November, but now we have so much time, money and heartache invested in this, we are determined to see this through. (Not to mention that pulling out at this point would incur additional legal fees beyond what we already have paid). 

To cut to the chase, we have put together this GoFundMe to defray some of our legal costs and enable us to finish this battle. Most GoFundMe campaigns usually ask folks for money, and oftentimes, there’s no great physical return, but it is not in our nature to simply take without giving. Thus, we have a fairly creative way we would like to respond to your kind donations (and coming from entertainment backgrounds, this could provide some levity where it is greatly needed at this time).

We want you to be our guest at a thank you party where we will be putting on a little concert- hopefully in the backyard of our new house!  

We are asking for support now because we feel we are finally in the home stretch! Even the smallest donation will help us cross the finish line!
