Manchester Marathon 2025 in Support of PAPYRUS
Hiya!
My name is Aoife and I am completing the Manchester Marathon 2025 in aid of Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide.
Last year I set a goal of completing my first half marathon in Lisbon, along with my dad and my sister Niamh. To up the ante slightly, this year I have decided to take on the challenge of completing the Manchester Marathon on April 27th 2025 and what better way to complete the challenge than to raise money for an amazing charity at the same time. Having grown up with both of my parents working in the mental health field, it is important to me that I support a cause that addresses important issues such as suicide. Preventing suicide among young people is crucial, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to dedicate my first marathon to this amazing organisation and the life-changing work they do. The opportunity to contribute and raise awareness, even in this small way, makes such a difference.
To give you a bit more information about PAPYRUS and the amazing work they do. PAPYRUS is the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide in the UK. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK. They believe that everyone can play a role in suicide prevention and they work towards a society which speaks openly about suicide and has the resources to save young lives.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to the cause. It means so much!
Guess I should get running...
