Manchester Half - Topical Steroid Withdrawal
Donation protected
I'm doing the Manchester Half Marathon next week, won’t be an amazing achievement considering my pace but anyone who knows me, knows I’ll take any chance I can to shout about TSW.
Last year, I made it up Kilimanjaro and because of your donations, raised nearly £3k for a charity called ITSAN, which helps people going through Topical Steroid Withdrawal. If you donated—thank you so much I’m still SO grateful. Their site’s here if you wanna see where the money went -
This time, I’m raising money for a brilliant woman behind Topical Debate.
Her son went through TSW and came out the other side physically, but like a lot of us, it’s still a struggle mentally. She’s been unreal—organising peaceful protests, petitions, everything awareness —doing all she can to stop others going through what we did.
She helped me personally more than she probably realises. Through her protests I met people who’d been through the same hell. Gave us hugs, listened & just got it. It’s not just the people suffering either—families, carers, friends, it affects everyone around them.
We’re hoping to raise a bit of cash to keep
the awareness going—maybe get some merch sorted, fund events, and just get more people talking about it. Every penny will go straight back into educating others.
TSW isn’t rare—it’s just misunderstood.
I know some some people are sick of me going on about it but I won’t stop until the day where the NHS gets it, and steroids are prescribed properly.
I’ve come out of my suffering wanting to do something good with what I went through. So this isn’t about me—it’s about everyone going through it now, and those who will if nothing changes.
If you are able to spare a couple of quid, amazing! If not, just sharing this or reading up on TSW helps more than you know.
