Manaia's Cancer Journey

I'm going to start with Manaia is okay.

9th of March 2024 our lives were turned upside down as our three year old son was diagnosed with a Wilm's Tumour, a tumour that had taken over majority of his left kidney.

At just three years old has had the removal of his left kidney, with another surgery around the corner to implant a central line to begin chemotherapy for the next six months, inclusive of his fourth birthday.

Chemotherapy on a young child is unimaginable.

We are required to remain in Brisbane for this excessive timeframe. A long way from home, family members, friends & currently off normal work during this time. However, we have hope to transfer to Cairns sometime soon to be a little closer to home.

Manaia - our sweet, strong-willed, fun adventurous boy now facing the world of hospital beds, surgical procedures, admissions to emergency, numerous blood tests, scans, medical appointments & chemotherapy.
