Preventing Maternal Death

Donation protected
I need your help with raising $10,000 to help educate healthcare providers in Africa on how to prevent maternal death resulting from postpartum hemorrhage (excessive bleeding after childbirth).

The risk of a woman dying from complications of pregnancy and delivery is more than 100 times higher in poor African countries in comparison to industrialized nations
For example, 560 women out of every100,000 live births in Nigeria die. This is quite alarming when compared to the United States which, reports about 21 deaths for every 100,000 live births. Others who report lower numbers include; UK with 12, Germany 7, and Sweden 4

I was born and raised in Nigeria, West of Africa where I attended nursing and midwifery schools. I survived pregnancy related complications because I received great care here in the United States. Unfortunately, I have lost childhood friends and family members who could have been saved if they had the same opportunity. I have always thought about how to help prevent mothers from dying while giving life; hence the choice of project for my doctorate. This project is in partnership with my local school of midwifery and the University of San Francisco which, is where I am currently enrolled as a Doctoral candidate.
Your contributions will provide critical training supplies that will result in saving lives. Your monetary donations will be used to print handouts, buy supplies for the postpartum hemorrhage cart as well as purchase simulation tools.
