Breaths for Bellamee

Our sweet daughter Bellamee Rae is a beautiful little four month old. In December of 2015 I found her purple and blue, not breathing, and lifeless. I immediately picked her up and started to arouse her and she started gasping for air and regaining color. I immediately took her to the ER where within a few hours were being transferred to Children's Hospital of Colorado. Since 5 weeks old Bellamee has had multiple hospital stays, two helicopter rides, dozens of tests, and still few answers until this last visit. We were in the hospital eighteen days with a diagnosis of sleep apnea and general apnea. She has periods where she stops breathing and or gasps to take in air. We were discharged home with 24/7 oxygen and a heart rate and pulse ox monitor to wear at night. What a transition it has been. Basically having to find a new "normal". She will continue to be on the monitor and oxygen for at least 3-6 months and have a repeat sleep study to see if she has hopefully grown out of this. That being said, her supplies to be safe at home is costing us $300 a month. Being finically strapped to begin with that is almost impossible to come up with but she needs it so we must find a way.
