MAN VS TRAIN
- Darin was in a tragic accident on July 25, 2025. He was working out of town in Wenatchee, Washington. After work, Darin and some of his coworkers decided to go watch the Mariners game and have a bite to eat. As Darin was walking back to his hotel that evening, a train was blocking the road. A semi-truck nearby was waiting on the train as well. Darin asked the truck driver how long he had been waiting. He said about 15 minutes. Darin decided to sit on a curb and then waited half an hour. He heard no noises from the train and thought it might be broken down. He decided to go in between the cars. Once he did that, the train started to move and wedged his feet in between the cars. Thank God Darin had his phone on him and was able to call 911 to stop the train.
- Darin was airlifted to Harborview. After five weeks at Harborview and numerous surgeries, Darin lost his left leg beneath his knee and now he is currently back at Harborview getting his right five toes amputated as they are trying to save his right foot.
- It's very humbling to have to ask for donations but putting pride aside, Darin needs your help. Darin is obviously out of work and medical bills are becoming overwhelming and the recovery for him is going to be a long, hard one. The medical bills are paired with the house bills, etc. You would think all of this would devastate him…but he wears a grateful smile just for being alive. He has hope for a brighter tomorrow. Anyone who knows Darin, understands he would be the first to give the shirt off his back or lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Your help is needed….big or small, it will gratefully be accepted.
