Imagine being pregnant and having to make the heart-wrenching decision to leave a violent partner, but with no access to welfare support and no family nearby to help. Or, consider being the parent of a young child, facing eviction because your rent has increased. Becoming a parent is a monumental and challenging milestone in anyone's life, but for some, it can be unimaginably difficult.
Leicester Mammas is raising funds for The Baby Project, which supports vulnerable families in crisis during the critical First 1001 Days—from pregnancy through to 2 years. Our aim is to reduce the impact of hardship on families so that babies can thrive and have their needs met, regardless of their circumstances.
Over the past 3.5 years, the Mammas Baby Project has supported more than 400 families by providing access to emergency supplies, including food, sanitary products, nappies, clothing, breast pumps, and infant formula (all in compliance with UNICEF UK Baby-Friendly guidance and the WHO International Code of Marketing Breast Milk substitutes).
With the increase in homelessness and in-work poverty in recent years, more Leicester families are needing to access Baby Project support, sometimes for several months or longer.
Our clinics offer a safe, friendly, and confidential space for those who don't have a safety net. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will help us continue this vital work. Thank you for caring.
