Help Me Recover from Mama’s Emergency Surgery
Hi, my name is Amy Zamora, and I’m asking for help after an unexpected and overwhelming veterinary emergency involving my cat, Mama.
In early June 2025, Mama suddenly became very lethargic and ill. On June 8, I rushed her to MedVet in Sunset, Utah, where they ran tests, placed an IV, gave her fluids, and kept her overnight. It was there that I received the devastating news—Mama had a foreign object lodged in her intestines and would need emergency surgery to survive.
With no time to plan and no other option, I made the decision to move forward immediately to save her life.
On June 10, I took her to Wasatch Community Veterinary Clinic in Salt Lake City, where they performed surgery and successfully removed the obstruction.
The total cost of her care came to $4,143.03:
• $2,343.03 from MedVet (two separate bills)
• $1,800 from Wasatch Community Veterinary Clinic
At the time, I had no choice but to put everything on my credit card.
Since then, I’ve been doing my best to make payments, but the high interest has made it incredibly difficult to bring the balance down. What started as an emergency decision to save Mama has turned into an ongoing financial burden that I’m struggling to manage.
Mama is doing well now, and I’m so grateful she made it through. She means everything to me, and I would make the same decision again to save her—but I’m still trying to recover financially from that moment.
I’ve included screenshots of all the bills for transparency.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would truly help me get closer to paying off this debt. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can give.
