Mama's hospital and surgery bills

On September 11th, 2021, I got my boyfriend to rush my mom to St. Joseph's hospital after she called me stating she needed to go. (She called me 30 minutes before my 10AM shift so there was no possible way I could no call no show or get it covered.) Now let me start by saying, myself as well as her coworkers, have been telling her to make a doctors appointment for a while, after multiple incidents of her falling down, hair loss, and fainting. My mom, being my mom, likes to be left alone. Up to the point at which I had no idea just how serious her condition really was. Later that night the doctors gave me a call informing me my mother had fluid filling both her lungs and body as well as a blood clot in one of her lungs.
On September 12th, 2021, I was schedule to work a double. I worked from 10AM to 6PM when I got a call from the hospital. The nurse on the phone told me that around 5:30pm my mom went into cardiac arrest. She flat lined. Her heart stopped. I couldn't think straight. Even after the nurse told me they were able to bring her back and that she was with us again. All I could think is how I would not be at work if her heart stopped again, I would be right there with her. So I left work and drove to St. Joseph's as tears just rolled down my face. It's a miracle I didn't end up in the hospital the way I was driving. When I got to the ICU a nurse sat me down and told me what the deal was. She told me they were going to take her to the CATH LAB and look at her heart.
Apparently my mother's heart has only been pumping at about 5-10%. This is due to her entire left artery being blocked. This contributed to the fluid in her lungs and the rest of her body. I was allowed to go to the CATH LAB and sign off on the procedure where they unclogged the artery and placed two stents in her heart. Two. Damn. Stents. 24 hours after the procedure her oxygen intake improved and a lot of her swelling went down. Here is the real kicker.
About 3 weeks ago, my mom was forced to resign from her job as a school bus driver after 17 years of service because of a poorly raised kid. Because she has resigned she no longer has health insurance/ workers comp from her job. Since Sunday, I have turned from just her daughter into her accountant. I've made many phone calls and and online applications to get her on some form of health insurance but I know insurance companies will not cover the costs of her hospital bills for the days she did not have insurance. I have no idea what the bill is going to look like but over a week in the hospital as well as a heart procedure is definitely not going to be cheap.
My mom is alive and I am very grateful for that. I owe those doctors and nurses everything for saving her. Anything you are willing to give will help me make her life easier and less stressful once she is able to come home. I love my mama very much and need her to be around for a while because even though I am 26.....I'm only 26. I'm still her baby. Let's get her home and get her well. Thank you.
