On Monday, October 17th, Mamadou Diakhate was shot in an attempted robbery while working at his store Baol Imports in Columbia City. He has been in the ICU since then and is still recovering. Mamadou is an extraordinary person, and I have known him since he used to run a restaurant nearby called La Teranga. Just as enjoyable as his food is his humble and kind personality. I am helping to collect funds with his family's permission to aid in his recovery and help him and his family get back on their feet, as this lengthy process is just starting.
