I had the privilege of staying with Mama Shu Shu and her beautiful family, in Sapa, Vietnam, back in July this year. Following the horrific recent events of the typhoon, a landslide has hit Sapa, devastating Mama Shu Shu’s house, village and also taking the lives of many men, women and children, tragically including Mama’s 2 beautiful grandchildren and mother. This news is devastating and travellers who have been lucky enough to meet Mama understand she is the heart and soul of Sapa, an unforgettable pure soul. After hearing this horrific news, I feel truly heartbroken for all involved but also helpless as we are all separated across the world. After disaster has struck like this, the financial burden is unimaginable. Let’s come together and raise as much money as we can in order for these amazing human beings to rebuild their lives and for us to show support where possible.
