Mama Shekinah’s Natural Healing—No Chemo, No Radiation

Beloved community,

I am Mama Shekinah Shakur—a divine priestess, healer, and spiritual counselor who has spent decades walking beside others on paths of birthing, healing, and ancestral restoration.

At 72 years of age, I’ve devoted my life to supporting our communities through some of life’s most sacred and difficult transitions. From helping women bring life into this world, to guiding families through grief and reentry from incarceration, I have held space for healing in all its forms—womb to tomb. I’ve offered counsel, ceremony, and comfort to those in need, often at no cost, because for me, healing has never been about money. It has always been about service, spirit, and truth. Long before it was accepted or recognized by the world, I stood rooted in this calling—uncompromising in my commitment to our wellness and liberation.

Twenty years ago, I overcame breast cancer. And now, as I face its return, I find myself at a sacred crossroads. After a lifetime of caring for others, I am being called to care for myself.

I have chosen to heal naturally in Costa Rica—a return to the land, the roots, and the rhythm of the Earth. I will be surrounded by nature, nourished by plant medicine, and supported in a setting aligned with the wisdom I’ve passed down for generations. I am choosing a path without chemotherapy, radiation, or synthetic interventions - Again. This is a journey of reclamation—a way to return to the essence of myself, before trauma, before depletion.
