Hello… I’m Kathleen. I’m a single mom of 5 and I’m really bad at asking for help, but I need it right now, so here goes.

I started a new job in December that has helped bring more stability to my family. I knew going in that I would need to get a more reliable vehicle as soon as possible because I drive at least 54 miles per day to get to and from work. I worked overtime and saved and was able to buy a new-to-me vehicle at the end of May. Life was really beginning to look different for my family! Aaaaaand then the transmission failed on the vehicle I bought less than 5 months ago. I do thankfully have some coverage through a warranty with my loan company, but it’s not enough to cover the full amount. I’m cashing out the remaining overtime hours I’ve accrued at work to help cover as much as I can, but it’s still not enough. I’m concerned I could eventually lose my job due to inconsistent transportation if it takes me a long time to get my car back.
