Allie and Alex Petrillo are about the most positive couple I know. I think Alex might be the unofficial Mayor of Rockaway and Allie's Hallelulahs ring out through church most Sundays, and she is just a beautiful lady. She can also be described as loving mother and wife, fair and caring employer, supportive friend, beautiful woman, and Child of God! I am tearing up a little as I write this because there just aren't enough words just to say what a fantastic person she is!
Allie's challenges began with a sore throat. The pain increased, and the antibiotics didn't work, so her husband (Alex) took her to the hospital. It was there that she was given the devastating news; She has a very aggressive form of Lymphoma. Aggressive sickness needs aggressive medicine and the chemotherapy began. Also, prayer WARRIORS came together to appeal to God to heal her with a campaign of prayer and anointing that continues today.
A week after her first chemo, I was able to visit. Still smiling, still positive, (despite feeling like crap) she told me of the outpouring of love and support from everyone, and how it is only a matter of faith and time that she is healed. At one point though, in a oh-so-soft voice, Allie said to me "the doctors say I am going to lose my hair." I could see and hear her pain at the thought of losing her lion's mane of hair. Only two days later, she texted me that it had started falling out in clumps. A dear friend cut it a few days later to relieve some of the weight hoping to delay the inevitable, but she knew she was going to need a wig. (Her new cut below!)
Since that day, she has received a donation of hair, but WOW, wigs are expensive to make. Bills continue to build, any insurance deductables have surely restarted with the New Year, she cannot work, and they need help! Your donations would go a long way to helping the family and relieve some of the weight from their shoulders. And please, help Allie get her new hair do!!!
