Hey everyone, my name is Melody and I'm a mama to my two precious babies Aria 4 yrs old and Aaron 9 mo old. This recovery fund is for me and the babies to get back on our feet and give us a fighting chance, a head start to our new chapter of life. Domestic violence took over my life the last 6.5 yrs, and I had the courage to leave that environment with the children In November. I always thought staying strong meant staying for your kids to not break your family apart. I was wrong, I was ashamed, and left broken, I feared for my life too often. At same time I was scared to leave not knowing if we'd make it. I am breaking a cycle of domestic violence in my family. I am showing my children you can leave and be safe, happy and healthy. It has been incredibly difficult to make it on our own with little to no help from others. I was on maternity leave from end of April 2021 to now and hope to maintain my employment as I intend to save for me and the babies future.

This fund is solely to assist with housing costs since we are looking for our own place and in the meantime have been in a safe DV shelter. It would also help us with making sure our only vehicle can be safe to drive and keep us on our way. It needs so much work done to ensure its reliable,safe transportation. It's how we get to doctor appts, Aria' preschool and my work. We'd be able to get necessities, furniture and pay for storage costs for our belongings.
My ex who I left filed a Custody Petition against me in November, when I initially left with the babies. I have a long battle ahead in Family Court but I am hopeful and faithful in justice serving a fair judgment for me and the children. I am going to be appointed a Court Appointed attorney to assist with our case in proceedings. Please pray for a swift and just trial.  ♥️

Making this recovery fund after leaving that relationship was hard on me and I hesitated. Another mom, a very close friend who I look up to Martha, let me know the support is there, the love is there and always will be, that I shouldn't be afraid to ask for help.
