Happy Brand New Day, loved ones!
As many of you know my mom and absolute BESTfriend, Ms. Betty Arnold aka "Mama Hue" has been very intensely battling her 2nd cancer diagnosis.
In 2017 she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that she beat without chemo or radiation by adopting a plant-based/alkaline vegan lifestyle. It was from that journey that I was inspired to become vegan too and created Plate Of Hue, our plant-based food service that has been an incredible blessing to operate as a family for the past 3 years since 2018!
In June of 2020, my mom was informed by her doctor that the cancer returned and metastasized to her lung and liver. She decided to follow doctors' adamant recommendations to do chemo and radiation treatments this time which have been extremely tough on her body- causing physical limitations, exhaustion, over 60lbs in weight loss, and emotional distress. Without any 2nd thought, I've been here the entire way through, going from full-time chef to full-time caregiver because- MAMA FIRST! However, with COVID-19 occurring in addition to this, our finances have been suffering for quite a while and we have very little room to take care of our needs and no room for additional expenses.
I understand that things are challenging for many folks right now so I truly hesitated to create this but we are in urgent need of several things in order to continue on this journey that we are trusting and believing we'll make it through!
My mom's SUV is breaking down as well as my car because they are both very old vehicles and having appointments and errands that must be made, she needs an SUV to be able to comfortably get in/out of and ride in, that has room for her wheelchair and other medical equipment. We are also in need of a bed for her so she can get adequate rest (which she hasn't gotten in months) that is absolutely essential to her healing! The funds that we are requesting will go towards purchasing her SUV and bed, as well as helping us catch up on bills, medical expenses, purchasing groceries etc.
My mom is truly Superwoman, not only to me, but to everyone that has had the opportunity to experience her beautiful, vibrant light and giving spirit! It's been beyond rough getting adequate treatment for her as well as having funds to take care or her in the best way. She is fighting pain and discomfort everyday and I am doing my best to hold her as well as my own heart together as we experience such a tumultuous time.
I appreciate everyone who is able to give and even if you're unable to financially give at this time, we are still grateful for the love and healing energy that you send to her, me, and our family as we are pushing through this with ALL of our might!
