Mama Ducky & Her Little Ducklings

Mama Ducky & Her Little Ducklings ‍‍

Hey y’all,

There’s a small, very pregnant stray cat who’s been hanging around my neighborhood. We've started calling her Mama Ducky—she’s sweet, gentle, and way too tiny to be carrying a belly full of babies, but here she is, just days away from giving birth.

With this heat rolling through, and no real shelter for her outside, I decided to bring her in and give her a quiet, safe space to have her kittens. I’m not sure where they’ll all land in the long run—but for now, they’ve got a home, and I’ll make sure they’re cared for, fed, and loved.

That said… this wasn’t in the budget. Or the plan.
So I’m reaching out for a little help.
This was a heart-first decision, not a wallet-first one—and the costs add up fast. I’ll be covering most of the daily care myself, but I’m asking for help to make sure Mama and her babies are safe, clean, fed, and supported until they’re ready for forever homes.

I’m doing this not just to help this little family, but because I want to help break the cycle. Mama Ducky is one of so many stray cats out here trying to survive—often pregnant, underweight, and alone. By bringing her inside, caring for her, and getting her spayed when the time is right, I’m doing what I can to make sure this is her last litter. Her babies will go on to safe, loving homes—and won’t add more kittens to the streets.
---

What I could really use support with:

Clean bedding & puppy pads (there’s gonna be a mess, let’s be honest)

Good food for Mama & the babies

Litter, litter boxes, and all the daily cleanup that comes with kittens

A spay & vet visit for Mama once she’s done nursing

Flea/deworming meds and possibly vaccines for the kittens

Anything extra will help me rehome them safely
---
Originally I considered a goal of $555 because it’s a number that symbolizes major life changes and new beginnings—which feels right for this sweet little mama. I know it might look like a lot, but it really just covers the basics: food, litter, supplies, and Mama Ducky’s spay and vaccines once her ducklings are weaned.

The actual cost of caring for a mama and a full litter of kittens through to adoption will run closer to $1,000+, especially if any of them need extra care or medical attention but this felt like a grounding place to start, and if we go beyond it, every single dollar will go directly to their care.

I’m not looking to keep them all—just to get them safely into the world, healthy and cared for, and help them find soft landings of their own.

Kittens will be weaned, socialized, and litter trained before adoption. If you’ve got a few dollars to spare, it would mean the world. If not, sharing this is just as helpful ♡

I’ll keep y’all updated when the ducklings arrive
Thanks so much for reading ♡
