It is with fierce spirit and unrelenting hope that the Crawford family requests the support of friends and family who are able to support my incredible mother, Caroleen "Cat" Crawford.

Mom went into the hospital at the start of September to receive treatment for what she thought was an acute kidney infection. Once admitted, it was discovered that she has stage IV colon cancer with mets to the liver. Several days after diagnosis, mom underwent laparoscopic surgery to remove tumors in her colon that were preventing her from eating solid foods and building the strength necessary for chemo. Currently, mom is still in the hospital with low hemoglobin and potassium levels and an elevated heart rate.

For the past 11 years, mom has been living on couches and in a room where she has access to a bathroom and kitchen. This living style is not conducive to allowing her to heal and focus on self care during this challenging time. We all fully intend for her to come out of this fight victorious, but we also acknowledge that there is a serious fight ahead. As such, we have secured her an apartment in a brand new senior living apartment complex in Riverside very near Sondra's home! This is incredibly exciting news - Michelle, Sondra, and Jim will be working together to pay mom's monthly living expenses in combination with her Social Security.
