I am Amanda and I'd like you to meet  my mama. Her name is Lisa and she is amazing. She is 48 years young and the single mother of six. She's worked hard all my life to provide for my brothers, sisters, and me.   She's a fun, silly, deep hearted person who would give you the shirt off of her back. She is always quick with a joke or a smart aleck quip. There's never a time that I return to my childhood home that I don't  leave with my ribs aching from laughing so hard. She is a person who loves unabashesedly.  If you are here, you are family and that is that. She may only have brought six children into this world but she is Mama to so many. She is the pinnacle of our family.  She is a devoted mother, sister, memaw, and friend. And she needs us.

Late Thursday night we took her to the emergency room for excruciating pain in her abdomen. After a long painful night of CT scans and ultrasounds they determined my sweet mama had a grapefruit sized cancerous tumor in her reproductive organs. As soon as that was discovered things moved pretty fast and they  rushed her via ambulance to  a specialist in U-City. Where they immediately  moved her into surgery for a complete hysterectomy.

Nothing is certain at this point about our next steps, but we know that it will be a long road and she will be down and out for quite some time, unable to work. We are stressing about her well being and health but also her $5000 deductible.  How we are going to help her make ends meet and even groceries at this point. I ask that if ever my mama has claimed you, loved you, smacked you upside your head, or made you laugh that you help us to care for her this time. Even just a couple dollars or a Facebook share. Every little penny helps and will surely take a burden off her shoulders and will be greatly appreciated. We just want her to focus on getting better.
