Hi, my name is Amber Bedell and I am fundraising for my son, Malik Harvey. In the early hours of May 10, 2022 Malik had a seizure. He had no prior history of seizure activity. We went to the Emergency Room. They did a catscan of his head and saw a spot on his brain. He was admitted to the hospital. The next day he had an MRI. This showed a clearer image of the spot and determined it was a mass.

On Tuesday May 17, 2022 Malik had a biopsy. of the mass on his brain. They sent the tissue for testing which showed the tumor is not. cancerous. We were so thankful for that news.

He has seen his regular physician, Neurologist, Oncologist, and Neurosurgeon. We are currently waiting to see a new Neurosurgeon in Morgantown for the removal of the tumor. His appointments and surgery will be in Morgantown so we will be traveling back and forth.

This has been a very scary and uncertain time for us. Malik and I have both been off work some already. With the upcoming surgery and recovery we will be off work more. Malik has been able to go back to work part-time. I have been at my new job less than a year. They havebeen absolutely amazing through all of this. I have almost exhausted my paid time off from work. This in itself made money a little tight. My landlord has also decided he wants to sell the house I live in. I have taken on a second jobbut am still not able to keep up with all of the. expenses we are facing. I am so humbled to even have to ask for help. We truly are giving our all, but still need help.
