ORIGINAL POST
Our good friend and IDT family member Emad Malik joined the IDT family 5 years ago as a territory sales rep working the SF Bay area academic market and grew into a management role now managing the pacific northwest of the US.  Emad has consistently brought in higher than expected revenue for IDT every year contributing strongly to IDT's success in that time period in one of the most important target markets in the world. Career success, although tremendous, doesn't even begin to tell his story.  Emad immigrated here with his father in his late teens to Reno, NV where he was forced to integrate into American culture straight into high school without knowing a lick of English.  By the time he graduated high school, he was speaking fluently and went on to get a Bachelors and Masters degree from UNR in Biochemistry and Biotechnology, respectively.  He started his biotech career with a role at Charles River as a Research Assistant followed by a sales role with Miltenyi Biotech selling flow cytometry equipment and reagents.  Emad was hired into IDT without interviewing a single other candidate for the role.  I knew Emad as we worked side by side at vendor shows for several years before tapping him to join IDT.  His professional demeanor was unmatched by his peers and his attitude was always cheerful, jovial and most of all respectful of others.  This along with his desire to learn has carried through to his work with IDT in every way making him a successful member of the IDT team.  Emad and his beautiful wife Samira have two wonderful children, Rayaan (7) and Aleena (5) whom they both devote their lives to in every way.  For all of this and so much more, I am honored and humbled to write this gofundme story.  More so, it is with an incredibly heavy heart to explain that Emad is one of the unlucky and has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the head and neck that after many surgeries, radiation, chemo and immunotherapy has aggressively started to attack other areas of his body.  Emad  is a fighter and through this all has been a incredibly upbeat.  He continued to work even through harsh chemotherapy and after chemo not working, he worked through immunotherapy.  He is now pursuing a a clinical study out of Stanford involving two new immunotherapy compounds to try to combat this horrible disease and we all have our fingers crossed that this will work.  The toll this is taking on him and his family cannot be understated and on belhalf of Emad and his family I would like to help them out any way I can through this incredibly difficult time in their lives.  If you feel like helping out Emad and his family, I ask you to please donate to this campaign.
