Malibu’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out to ask for help for my beautiful gelding. I bought him in March, and shortly after bringing him home, I noticed a hard bump under his jawline. As a first-time horse owner, I was immediately concerned. Over the next few weeks, the bump grew larger, and I could tell he was uncomfortable.
After calling my vet, we learned he needed his teeth floated—a procedure his previous owner hadn’t done. But even after that, something still wasn’t right. Further exams and x-rays showed he had a broken tooth root causing a cyst to form under his jawline. The infection was painful for him, and it became clear he needed surgery.
We took him to Palm Beach Equine Clinic for a tooth extraction. The estimate came out to $3,000, which was completely unexpected. Between vet calls, antibiotics, dental work, and this surgery, the costs have added up quickly. I bought him for $3,500 and am now facing the same amount in further medical bills. It’s been overwhelming emotionally and financially, but i’m committed to giving him the care he needs.
I love this horse and never imagined we'd go through this so soon after bringing him home. If you’re able to make donations to help get me and my baby back on our feet it would be tremendously appreciated. It’s been hard but I believe his recovery will be the greatest thing!
Thank you all in advance
