Hi! I’m Malia Sato and I’ve been invited to train with the USA Team Handball Women’s National Team with the goal of earning a spot on the LA28 Olympic roster. Growing up in California, I never lived more than an hour away from my family, but I’m making the move across the country to Florida for this once in a lifetime opportunity. My journey through the residency program (flights, transportation, lodging, etc.) is entirely self-funded, so any support is appreciated! I’m extremely grateful and privileged to get the chance to train handball at an elite level and represent the USA—just like my dad, aunt, and uncle did with USA Volleyball back in the 1988, 1992, and 2012 Olympic Games. I’m looking forward to growing the game of team handball in the United States for the next 2.5 years and beyond. Thank you all for your support!
