A few days ago my 23 year old sister was involved in a boating incident that involved being left after her leg was injured by the propeller of a boat. The night ended with her losing a lot of blood and her leg being amputated below the knee.  There is an open police case involving the man who fled the scene after turning the boat on and reversing knowing she was in the water. 

She has a long road to recovery.
