This is Brother Malek Saldin reaching out to the Ummah in these blessed days of Ramadan.

I pray this message finds you in the best of Iman and health.

With a heart overwhelmed by sheer desperation, I write to you seeking your help. My situation has reached a critical moment, as all of my savings have eroded due to my kidneys packing up and my not being able to find a suitable donor. I have house rent paid till the end of December, I could end up being homeless. Due to my health condition, I haven’t been able to secure employment, thereby not having any regular income support for myself and my family.

Without immediate financial support from you, I sincerely appeal to you in The Name of Allah! May Allah Subhaanahu help you when there is none but Allah that can help you in the hereafter. Ameen

Although I receive Centrelink payments, these payments do not cover my rent, medical expenses, transport requirements, and essential daily living costs. This persistent shortfall has left me in an extremely vulnerable situation.

My health challenges have further complicated my circumstances. I am currently:

1. Awaiting a kidney donor on the national transplant waiting list,

2. Suffering from neuropathy in my legs, limiting mobility,

3. Experiencing severe lower-back pain, with CT and MRI scans showing degeneration and bulging disks.

4. Requiring the use of a walker and wheelchair due to leg weakness,

5. Undergoing ongoing medical investigations, including MRI imaging.

These medically documented conditions have removed my ability to work and maintain financial stability.

According to Islamic principles, individuals who cannot earn a living due to illness and whose income is insufficient for basic needs fall under the categories of al-fuqara and al-masakeen, making them eligible to receive zakat.
