Animal Rescue Clinic Maldives

The Zoophilist Society of Maldives is a registered non-for-profit NGO in the Maldives (Indian Ocean). Since November 2021 we've been collecting donations to treat injured community cats.

Since there is no TNR / spay-and-neuter programme available, street cats are reproducing uncontrolled, which results in malnourished cats, disease transfer, a high parasite load, continuous litters starving on the roads, slow deaths (no euthanasia available!) and cat killings. Male' City has secretly started culling in February 2023±

Spay & neutering is a key tool in the war of overpopulation! We want to open a clinic, providing spaying and neutering services at no cost for stray cats and at low-cost rates for cat owners. We got the location in Hulhumale' confirmed and are working in collaboration with the government. However, the whole inventory and management of the clinic are on us!
