Hi, we are Mamen and Moujhuri and we are the co-founders of Malda Soul Sisters.
What is Malda Soul Sisters?
Malda Soul Sisters is a collaborative project that aims to economically empower women, developing their professional skills and providing opportunities to gain economic independency and creative expression.
The project focuses on a group of women from Gohila, a remote village in Malda district in West Bengal, India.
What are we doing?
We already started training five women with the skills needed for the handcrafting of accessories such as scarfs and bags made out of local cotton and silk fabrics and now we are seeking your support to help with startup costs.
What will the funds be used for?
The funds will be used to cover the initial phase of the project. This includes the salaries of five employed women, the essential raw materials, equipment and workspace. All this is needed to be able to handcraft our beautiful designs that will be sold online to continue funding this project.

Malda Soul Sisters es un proyecto colaborativo que tiene como objetivo empoderar económicamente a las mujeres, desarrollando sus habilidades profesionales y brindándoles oportunidades para ganar independencia económica y expresión creativa.
El proyecto se centra en un grupo de mujeres de Gohila, una aldea remota en el distrito de Malda en Bengala Occidental, India.
¿Qué estamos haciendo?
Hemos empezado a capacitar cinco mujeres con las habilidades necesarias para la elaboración artesanal de accesorios como fulares y bolsos hechos con telas locales de algodón y seda y ahora estamos buscando apoyo para cubrir los costes iniciales del proyecto.
¿Para qué se utilizarán los fondos?
Los fondos se utilizarán para cubrir la fase inicial del proyecto. Esto incluye los salarios de las cinco mujeres empleadas, las materias primas esenciales, el equipo y el espacio de trabajo. Todo esto es necesario para poder elaborar a mano nuestros hermosos diseños que se venderán en línea para seguir financiando este proyecto.
