When I was a Peace Corps Volunteer, I worked with an elementary school to raise funds to construct a girls' dormitory for 30 orphaned and vulnerable schoolchildren. The school is now hoping to expand the dormitory to further improve students' living conditions.
Currently, the students are cooking in a small wooden structure that leaks during the rainy season. The school hopes to construct a permanent cooking facility for the students. Additionally, they will use some money to make minor repairs to the existing structure.
This project will create kitchen space for 30 female students at an elementary school.
This project includes plans to renovate the toilets, replace broken windows, and reapply termite protection to the buildings.
This project includes funds to pay the salaries of three local builders for two months.
The community is donating labor to move the necessary sand and water to the construction site, as well as the bricks.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the project. Nawonga chomene for your generosity!
