Dear Friends,
We have reached and long since surpassed our goal of raising $32,000. We decided to stop accepting donations. The money we have raised has made the lives of our employees much easier in the months that we are closed. We, at Malaparte, are immensely grateful for each and every contribution. As an owner of the restaurant, I was deeply moved by the outpouring of support from customers, close friends, friends of friends and people I have never even heard even of. I cannot thank you enough. I had not expected to achieve our goal, let alone achieve it in just a matter of days.
For those of you I have yet to thank personally, please expect an email shortly. For the many whose email address I do not have, I will message you through this platform. Invitations to our donor party will also arrive via the platform for those same people whose email I did not receive. I expect the party to be held not immediately after reopening in March, but after most of us have been vaccinated and we can congregate without fear.
In the meantime, I pledge to repay your generosity by making Malaparte an even more welcoming and warm space to gather and share excellent Italian fare.
